Indiana Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith joins us to break down the latest movement on Indiana’s redistricting bill, what amendments could come next, and why the debate over how the lieutenant governor is selected has escalated at the Statehouse. He also reflects on navigating difficult public stories and shares a heartfelt Christmas message with Hoosiers.
Then, Dr. Chuck Reynolds, Superintendent of Muncie Community Schools, steps into the new WMUN video studio to recap last night’s board meeting, highlight Northview Elementary’s creative programming, update district bond projects, celebrate recent staff honors, and look ahead to the upcoming holiday break.
And we close with Deputy Chief Melissa Criswell of the Muncie Police Department, who shares a firsthand look at last night’s Pacers Foundation Big Toy Giveaway at Muncie Central — a community event that brought joy to more than 300 children.
A full morning of statewide issues, local schools, and community impact — all on WMUN: The Talk of Muncie.

Deputy Chief Melissa Criswell of the Muncie Police Department joins Steve to recap last night’s Pacers Foundation Big Toy Giveaway at Muncie Central High School. She shares how the event came together, the volunteers who made it possible, and the joy of watching more than 300 children choose gifts, meet Boomer and Freddy, and celebrate the season. A great partnership moment between MPD, the Pacers, and the community.

“Every strong community has a strong press. That’s what we’re trying to do with WMUN. It’s a place for people to understand what’s taking place in the community. It’s a place for leaders in the community to talk about things. It’s a place for different voices in the community to bring up questions or concerns. That is something that’s been missing for some time,” J. Chapman.
